This is Assemblymember Alberto Torrico.
On Monday the Assembly advanced historic health care reform.
It reduces the numbers of the uninsured.
It improves the health insurance market for individuals.
It advances strategies to reduce costs and improve quality.
And it protects California's budget by being self-financing.
Our reform bill has some amazing support.
SEIU’s president and Safeway's CEO...AARP and AFSCME... …Nurses...Carpenters...Children Now, Chamber leaders and Childrens Defense Fund. Laborers and the Latino Business Association.
Their support is proof of how much good this bill will do.
It’s like Jimmy Stewart in Its a Wonderful Life with all the people who keep coming to show support.
These are the people I want to be standing up with to fix California's broken health care system.
People who understand how important health care reform is to the future of California.
People who know we need to get this bill signed into law.
