DFA Member stumps for Vic Wulsin
by Charles Chamberlain, DFA Field Director [courtesy of Blog for America]
Hey Everyone,
I asked the campaigns competing in Grassroots All-Stars to post blogs and ask for your vote. I also told them that if they sent their post to me I would post it for them. Here is the first blog I have received. Enjoy! -Charles

First of all, thank you for promoting my post on the DFA blog!
My name is Ann Driscoll, and I wanted to share with you a song and video I made for Vic Wulsin, a progressive Democrat running again in OH-02 after almost beating Jean Schmidt in 2006. You can see the video here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=3YP8iBKXM9Y
The lyrics are below too. Much to my surprise, the video is a hit - it's been covered in newspapers across Ohio and even on the evening news!
In 2006, Vic almost took one of the most ruby-red conservative districts in the country despite virtually no support from the national Democrats and having been outspent 2:1. She outperformed statewide Democrats such as Ted Strickland and Sherrod Brown in the district and came closer to winning OH-02 than any Democrat in 27 years. Her strong '06 performance paints a picture of a rare candidate who can appeal to Democrats, Independents, and Republicans alike without compromising her progressive values and principles: ending the war in Iraq, implementing universal healthcare, restoring civil liberties, and protecting the environment. For more information on her positions, check out her website's page on the issues.
The DFA AllStar endorsement will help provide Vic the resources and support she needs heading into her March 4th primary. She is already doing significant fundraising and organization-building, having raised over half a million dollars. Securing the DFA community's trust and endorsement is critical to her success. So if you haven't, go to (link) and vote for Vic.
Vic is a strong progressive voice who, as in 2006, has a great chance at beating her arch-conservative opponent, Jean Schmidt, and restoring some common sense, and yes, some humanity to the leadership of the 2nd district.
