Ex-Schwarzenegger Campaign Flack Joins Fledgling Thompson Campaign

Todd Harris, the Governor's spokesperson during the 2005 special election, has landed a gig as the communications director for Fred Thompson's gubernatorial run, according to an AP report.

Harris, who teamed with Rob Stutzman to defend Schwarzenegger's ill-fated initiative campaign in 2005, was part of DC Navigators, which was managed by Mike Murphy. Harris had a solid reputation in Sacramento (not to mention excellent taste in fine wines). He and I mixed it up a bit during the election a few times but were able to laugh about it.

Before setting up shop in Sacramento, Harris was deputy communications director to John McCain during the Arizona senator's 2000 presidential race. After that he was communications director to then-Gov. Jeb Bush for the 2002.
