Patriot Games!

Flag waving to what end?  Not that anyone should be less loyal to their Nation, or not served when the need arises. To be Patriotic is not a game, at least in the sense that we go to war and demand our sons and daughters to go risk their irreplaceable lives for the Nation’s sake.

Patriotism should not and must not be a one sided affair, whereas a Nation demands sacrifice of its sons and daughters; and is not loyal to them in return for such sacrifice. Our Nation has been embroiled in a deadly and insane war for more than five years, to what end? Our sons and daughters are placed in harms way not so much for the security of our Nation, but for the greed of the oil conglomerates.

Many of our sons and daughters, who served bravely on those far-flung shores, have suffered life altering wounds, whereas they will need the support of someone for the rest of their lives. Some in the political circles are saying we cannot afford to provide the wherewithal for our sons and daughters who gave of their lives to insure foreigners a better way of life, yet after spending trillions in a futile attempt to democratize the Middle East. Some are saying make your own way; your sacrifice was your duty!

While our sons and daughters served bravely on the battlefields; the oil lobbyists have filled their coffers with billions upon billions of dollars with oil revenue. When asked about their profiteering; they say it is the people’s fault for investing in oil commodities through their pension funds!
