Polls, Polls, and More Polls

The big news of the day is that Senator Hillary Clinton has a razor-thing lead over Senator Barack Obama in the California primary. And the Golden State isn't the only place where the numbers are tightening.

The Washington Post/NBC have a national poll out today showing Sen. Clinton with a 47-43 percent edge going into Super Tuesday. The margin of error is 4 percent, so it's now a dead heat nationally. The Gallup Poll's latest tracks in the Democratic race show Clinton leads Obama 48 percent to 41 percent, improving from the 3 point and 4 point leads she held earlier this week. A new Fox News poll has Clinton up 47-37 percent.

Here's a look at some new polls just out before Super Tuesday And yes, we print these with polling results from New Hampshire still fresh in our minds.

Alabama -- While Rasmussen has Hillary ahead, 46-41 percent, Senator Barack Obama leads 44-37 percent in Alabama in another poll released Friday. Notes the pollster: "Clinton is picking up the Edwards vote. The black vote continues to increase for Obama and the white vote for Clinton. The closer you get to the election there are fewer undecided and that’s the way it’s breaking."

Arizona -- A dead heat here. Clinton is up 43-41 in a new MSNBC/McClatchey poll. Obama has a 53-37 percent edge among Hispanics.
