by chuck nasmith [courtesy of Blog for America]
8000 parents of U.S. military sons and daughters have lost their children because of the lies from Bush and Cheney. Cheney knows the people are against the war. " So" is his response. Whats yours?

Thank you, Brattleboro VT...
by Charles Harker [courtesy of Blog for America]
(Editor's Note: The town meetings of Brattleboro and Marlboro approved indictments against President Bush and Vice President Cheney. From ABC News:
Voters in two Vermont towns approved measures Tuesday calling for the indictment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for what they consider violations of the Constitution.
More symbolic than anything, the items sought to have police arrest Bush and Cheney if they ever visit Brattleboro or nearby Marlboro or to extradite them for prosecution elsewhere — if they're not impeached first.

Hillary Clinton echoes Bush-Cheney Iran War rhetoric (w/video)
by Jed Report [courtesy of Blog for America]
Hillary Clinton says she is standing up to Bush and Cheney, but she repeats their rationales for war with stunning precision. If Hillary can't stand up to the Republican war propaganda on Iran, how can we trust her to stand up to their war policies on Iran?
Hillary Clinton says that she favors preventing a "rush to war" -- but what is the opposite of a "rush to war"? A "leisurely stroll"? No thanks. In 2002, Hillary said she opposed a "rush to war" with Iraq -- but she still supported the war with Iraq.

No, Keith. Resignation is not the answer.
by Monica Smith [courtesy of Blog for America]
That was the mistake we made last time--letting Nixon resign and leave all the rats in place. Bush and Cheney do nothing but give orders and their minions carry them out, secure in the thought that blind obedience absolves them of personal responsibility for the consequences of their hubris and misbegotten ambition.
What we need to remember is that the reason the current occupants of the White House think fondly of Harry Truman is because he said, "the buck stops here," implying that everyone else in the hierarchy could pass the buck with impunity. Of course, the mistake Bush Two has now made in commuting Libby's sentence is that he spent his own buck and his fingerprint is still on it.

The Ghost Of Tricky Dick
by Sheri Divers [courtesy of Blog for America]
Yesterday, Senator Patrick Leahy called Bush's refusal to release White House documents, "Nixonian stonewalling." Leahy added, "In America, no one is above law."1
When Bush refused to comply with Congressional subpoenas regarding the U.S. Attorneys firing scandal he was really flaunting his disdain for the Constitution.
This standoff will likely lead to the Supreme Court. But we know that the Court is stacked in Bush's favor.
There is another way to hold the Bush administration accountable. Besides Bush and Cheney there has been one figure at the center of the warrantless wiretapping program, the torture of America's prisoners, the suspension of Habeas Corpus, and the U.S. Attorneys firings. That man is Alberto Gonzales.
Democracy for America is pushing for the removal of Gonzales because impeachment is one avenue towards accountability that even the Supreme Court can't stop.
Keep the pressure building with an end of quarter contribution of $15!
