CA 04: Vets Back Brown, Rebuke McClintock & Ose Attacks on Charity Challenge
by Charlie Brown for Congress [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
Yesterday was a powerful press day in CA 04, most notably on the Opinion page of the Auburn Journal.
As all of you know, the treatment afforded American veterans has long been a national disgrace---and like so many of the challenges we face, it's not a new problem either. That's why Charlie is not waiting for January of 2009 to make a difference for America's veterans--donating 5% of campaign contributions to help those most in in need in our community.
Last week here in CD4, some of our well travelled, career politician opponents actually attacked Charlie for his Promises Kept Veterans Charity Challenge.
The Auburn Journal weighed in with an editorial here.
And then somthing else happened---30 local veterans, including more than a dozen vets of Iraq and Afghanistan submitted a response of their own. Wanted to share their comments with all of you, below the flip.

Gary Miller needs to reimburse taxpayers $1.28m
by ron [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
I haven't been around much in the past few months. In fact, I've been busy getting ready for our bust-out campaign. Call time and endorsement pushes are very time consuming especially when you have to still work to put food on the table. With this post I am back.
Today, I called on Rep. Gary Miller to reimburse the taxpayers $1.28 million for an earmark that he placed in the 2005 Highway bill.
I am sick and tired of letting career politicians who care more about their personal business than the peoples' business run our country.

Is Obama Channeling Schwarzenegger?
[courtesy of The California Majority Report]
At first I thought it was just me: Was Sen. Barack Obama beginning to sound a lot like Arnold Schwarzenegger? Then there it was in a Washington post headline yesterday: "Post-Partisan Obama," and another Post story talking about Obama's California groundswell, where a Santa Cruz decline-to-state voter suggested he'd do well in the Golden State because he has a similar "post-partisan" style.
Then I Googled "Schwarzenegger" and "change" and found this gem from CNN's "Inside Politics":
"Gubernatorial candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger ... vowed Wednesday to lead a "people's takeover" of California's government, saying career politicians have left the state in a shambles. Speaking in advance of a candidates' debate he has decided to skip, Schwarzenegger, a Republican, described his candidacy as a "movement for change." "Help me send a message to Sacramento -- game is over," Schwarzenegger told the enthusiastic crowd at California State University in Long Beach."
"Movement for change?" Arnold ought to sue Obama for plagarism.
There's more...
