We now have the numbers on voter turnoutfor California's February 5 primary from Secretary of State DebraBowen. Voters flocked to the polls in greater numbers than in the last25 years. Unsurprisingly, most were Democrats. "There's no questionRepublicans are worried about enthusiasm amongst their voters," saidRob Stutzman, a GOP strategist.

School districts around the state are preparing for cuts andlayoffs, says the LA Times. At least one district is offering a bonusto employees who retire or resign by April 1.
