A question for young voters...

[courtesy of Blog for America]

I have asked my county party how to get young people involved in our county party.  I think Democrats have failed to create a farm team of leaders, volunteers, and candidates who know the issues, know how to work on and run campaigns, and win as candidates.

I've asked people on www.henrydems.org discussion group to think of ideas to get young people innolved in our county party.

DEMS UNITE!

Now that Sen. Barack Obama is the unofficially official Democratic nominee, it's time for Democrats to pull together and support him. It's down to the wire now. The generals will be starting very soon and we have to make sure we don't get stuck with a Bush Clone.

Election Problem in FL

by Frances Mullane [courtesy of Blog for America]

I cannot believe anyone would suggest spending $12M on an election re-do.   The way to end the problem with MI and FL democrats votes not counting and the delegates not being allowed at the convention  is so simple that you wonder if anyone is thinking.   If these two states' votes and delegates don't count... then their delegate number needs to be removed from the total delegates available... cause they aren't available... then recalcuate the number needed to win based on the REAL number of available delegates.

This won't cost anything.  It is simple.  It is super Fair.   Frances Mullane Jupiter FL 561 745-9078

The Democratic Party represents the values we need!

by Charles Harker [courtesy of Blog for America]

The country is clearly heading in a bad way. From the economy to our reliance on foreign oil, a lowering of the standard of living. We must energize and try to act on the ideas we need to right our way. The Democrats can lead the country back to prosperity.

RALPH NADER NEEDS TO STAY OUT OF RACE!

by Cheryl Abdon-Wolford [courtesy of Blog for America]

I have always liked Ralph Nader for being a consumer advocate - but, he is a spoiler!!! He takes votes from the Democrats and seeing there is no chance of a win for him - he needs to stop - let this election play out without him!!!!!

The California Democratic Party Needs You

My mother has often said, "If you want something to get done, you have to be ready to do it yourself."

I think that's great advice (and it's not just because I loved my mother).

In 2008, there's a lot of work that needs to be done. Today, you have the opportunity to stand up and take on a more active role in the Democratic Party in your community. Please read more about your County Central Committee and consider running to become a member.

The clock is ticking, though. The deadline to become a candidate is March 7.

All of us have things that we would like to see our government and our party accomplish. But sometimes it's not enough to want good things to happen. We need to be ready to MAKE them happen ourselves.
