Cavala: Obama Will Be the Nominee--Happy Days Are Here Again

While I have many close friends who support Clinton and who support Obama, I have not been involved with either campaign. As a professional Democrat, I’ve watched the contest between the two of them evolve – often unexpectedly – for months.

I now believe Obama will win our nomination. His lead among delegates was built by his activist-based victories in states that allocate delegates by caucus. You win such states by having the money to compete on the ground (which has been internet based for Obama) and by generating excitement among the faithful. For all her strong points, Clinton has been unable to generate activist excitement. And because her fundraising was centered around contributors to her husband (‘investors’) she was able to raise a lot of money but not a lot when compared to Obama.

Another Superdelegate Abandons Senator Clinton: Senator McGovern Tells Hillary to Drop Out Soon

[courtesy of The California Majority Report]

Let the tidal wave begin! Fresh this morning, former Senator Hillary Clinton backer George McGovern, who was the Democratic nominee for president in 1972, has now endorsed Senator Barack Obama.

Said McGovern, "Hillary, of course, will make the decision as to if and when she ends her campaign. But I hope that she reaches that decision soon so that we can concentrate on a unified party capable of winning the White House next November."

My Closing Arguments for Hillary

Cross posted from my dKos diary with my permission.

New material and lots of stuff I need to say again.  This is my final argument for Hillary.

I think Democrats are good people.  I have friends in every campaign and we treat each other with respect.  The Democrats here are no different.

You are good people and respectful.  Those tr's who frequent every candidate's diary's are trolls.  They are tr's sent by the right, maybe employed by the right.  They are here to do what they do.  Disrupt discourse and direct our conversations away from where they should be.  I don't have time to waste trying to convince the republican tr's here.

I'm am working hard for Hillary just as she has worked hard for us for 35 years.

Please join me now in my final argument.
