Josh Richman's blog over at the Contra Costa Times has an interesting little tidbit. "Didja know Nelson Mandela and the African National Congress were still on the United States' list of organizations considered to be terrorists?" he asks his readers.

Well, Majority Report readers, didja know Kim Jong-il and the North Korean government will no longer be on the United States' list of organizations considered to be terrorists? Apparently, by blowing up a reactor cooling tower and handing over some paperwork to the Bush Administration, the hermit state has proved to the Bush Administration it does not promote terrorism abroad.

"I think this represents the definitive collapse of the Bush Doctrine and I'm sure they're popping champagne corks in Pyongyang." said ultra-hawk and former Bush-appointee to the U.N. John Bolton.

While Bolton is convinced North Korea is just waiting to unleash it's arsenal of drunk-on-champagne, nuclear-powered super-soldiers upon the world, it may be time to look at the politicized nature of the terrorist-sponsoring organizations list.

And the Reviews are In: Dean Andal’s Fundraising "Tanks" ... "Insufficient" ... "Disappointing" ... "Unimpressive" ... "Anemic"

[courtesy of The California Majority Report]

When national Republicans recruited Stockton developer and longtime politico Dean Andal to take on Rep. Jerry McNerney in California’s 11th congressional district, they couldn’t have envisioned headlines like this: "Andal’s fundraising tanks"; "Dean Andal’s Anemic Fundraising"; "Insufficient Funds?".

Unfortunately for the Republicans, that’s exactly what they’re seeing after Andal reported collecting a paltry $11,234 during the latest fundraising reporting period, between April 1 and May 14, 2008, a "disappointing haul" to say the least. In comparison, McNerney raised $148,783 during the same period.

Andal’s miserable showing hasn’t gone unnoticed. Hank Shaw from the Stockton Record points out: "Consider that Andal is not likely to get much help from the national party, which is in financial trouble and is scrambling to hold three dozen GOP seats that are in peril; Andal's campaign will live and die off his own efforts."

Arnold to attend a "Yacht Party"?

by Brian Leubitz [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]

I swear, I did not make this up. Josh Richman, who writes for some of the Bay Area newspapers, has this sweet little post at his political blog:

A public relations consultant for Frauscher, a European yacht manufacturer, says Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will attend the unveiling of the world's first hybrid yacht engine this Friday morning, May 16, at San Francisco's St. Francis Yacht Club...

It's just too easy, I can't do it. So, feel free to insert your own funny comment here.
