NOW SHAME ON MSNBC CABLE NEWS!
by Jeff Morris [courtesy of Blog for America]
I was disappointed last week when ABC excluded a number of the Democratic candidates in the New Hampshire debate. Likewise, FOX cable news did the same with a number of the Republican candidates in a scheduled debate on its channel. Tonight, I regret to say, I'm equally disappointed with MSNBC cable news for not allowing (D) Rep Dennis Kucinich to participate in tonight's debate in Nevada.
Rep. Kucinich has been the winner in most of the on line Internet elections various progressive groups have held. But MSNBC decided to exclude him. Unlike ABC and FOX cable news, I was hoping MSNBC cable news would set the right example, and allow Kucinich to participate. The MSM has too much clout with these policies of exclusion. The American people shouldn't have the candidate field reduced down to who the MSM feels are the front runners.
The general election is still ten months away! More candidates participating means more opinions and views, more ideas, and more choices for the American voter. This only better serves a Democracy and its election process . Lets be real here. If the lower polled candidates aren't getting equal air time, it puts them at a major disadvantage. We want the American political process to be Free and "Fair". By being excluded, the process hasn't been fair to many of the candidates.

Latest Update on Pick Your President
by Julia Rosen [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
(full disclosure: I work for the Courage Campaign)
Look out! Hillary Clinton just passed Dennis Kucinich and is now in 3rd place both in California and nationally in the Pick Your President Poll. Barack Obama is still leading John Edwards. I know for sure that the Obama supporters and network are encouraging their people to vote in the poll. What about John Edwards? He was doing quite well before Obama supporters started working on GOTV. Who knows maybe Clinton will catch up?
I can't share with you the actual vote margins, but suffice to say they do not match up with your average daily kos poll. There is plenty of time for anybody to claim first place. The poll will run until the 18th. You can follow the results on this page. The numbers are current as of 2 PM PST. We will be updating over the weekend.
Here are the current California standings, which are now identical to the national rankings:
1. Sen. Barack Obama
2. Sen. John Edwards
3. Sen. Hillary Clinton
4. Rep. Dennis Kucinich
5. Gov. Bill Richardson *

Our Progressive Coalition: A Reason to Believe
By Brad Parker
11/19/07
When we were formulating our strategy timeline for the "Progressive Plan" - published by the Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party in August 2006 - we called for a coalition meeting of all outside the Democratic Party Progressive groups with all Progressive Caucuses inside the state Democratic Parties in the fall of 2007. Up until two weeks ago it looked as though this strategic prognostication might not be realized as the rest of the timeline has been. As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving we can be thankful that in two significant ways this call to coalition has not only been realized but in mysterious and stimulating ways.

First – a move to censure Senator Dianne Feinstein for her votes to confirm Leslie Southwick and Michael Mukasey, that began in the Executive Board of the Progressive Caucus of the CDP, caught fire across California, resulting in a spirited effort to do just that at the CDP Executive Board meeting in Anaheim this past weekend. Mal Burnstein – Co-Chair of the Progressive Caucus of the CDP - first brought the resolution of censure to the caucus board. It was unanimously passed.
