Open Thread: 2nd Primary Election Night
by Julia Rosen [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
Ok, I think some people may have some random things to say and no thread to say them in as we wait for the CA polls to close.
I will start. Good lord McCain put up a stinker today. The advance job was terrible. The old white man candidates, spoke roboticly to a lackluster all white crowd waving all white signs.
And yes we finally have a nominee. Let the healing and unifying begin.

ABC Debate Protest Live Thread
by Julia Rosen [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
Bob put this as an update to the post below, but I think this protest deserves its own thread. I too just talked to Dave who said there is about 70 people there already and growing by the minute. They are handing out a ton of pins and it sounds like everyone is having a good time and no issues that the personal officer needs to deal with.
(Bob) I just got off the phone with David Dayen for the report from the ground. It was kinda tough to hear because all of the horns honking in the background. He said there was a great crowd, KTLA is interviewing a number of them, and they are having a lot of fun passing out the lapel pins. Also, he loved the fact that a Burbank Police Officer came by and told them he was their officer for the night and if they had any problems (with ABC or Disney) to give him a call. I wish I was there, if you can make it they'll be out there until 7PM.

Maria Shriver Endorses Obama
by Julia Rosen [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
Dave just called from the Michelle Obama, Opera Winfrey event. Maria Shriver just took the stage and announced that she was endorsing Barack Obama. Evidently she made up her mind just this morning.
I am sure the Obama advance team was more than happy to make room for a Kennedy on the stage. From the way that she has been talking recently I expected that she would endorse Clinton if anyone at all. Good late pickup for Obama in California. Shriver is pretty respected and often credited with helping Arnold successfully make his move back to being a moderate after the 2005 special election.

Schwarzenegger to Endorse McCain
by Julia Rosen [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
It was only a few days ago that Arnold was saying he wasn't going to endorse anyone. This endorsement should come as no surprise though. He has always been close to McCain.
From TPM:
It's looking like John McCain will get another huge endorsement in a major Super Tuesday state. Newsweek reports that Arnold Schwarzenegger will likely endorse McCain soon after tonight's debate at the Reagan Library.CNN also has the news, reporting that the endorsement will officially come within the next 48 hours.
This is further proof of Republicans coalescing behind McCain.
