Spaghetti or Pancakes? Jackie Speier offers you a choice this Sunday
by Brian Leubitz [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
Former state Sen. Jackie Speier offers you a choice of pancakes (Sunday morning, South SF) or spaghetti (Sunday night, Burlingame). The pancake event is free, but the spaghetti will cost you $10. Find out more or RSVP here.
As for me, I'm a pancake fan. Expect to see me lining up for a big ol' stack Sunday morning. Also, speaking of CA-12, Jackie's election is Tuesday. She needs 50%+1 to get her seat in Congress. If you live in the district, make sure you show up and vote so the district gets representation ASAP.

Wednesday Hunterdon DFA - Calling ALL Democratic Activists!
by Rosi Efthim [courtesy of Blog for America]
What would it take... to organize target voters in your neighborhood? What would happen if somebody simply went and ...talked to them? Who might get elected? How would affect 2008? The War? Health care? Linda Stender's chances? Would things change?
These are the questions at the heart of a big experiment we're launching Wednesday night, where DFA activists & local Dems will unite to talk strategy. Calling ALL Democratic Activists - RSVP here!
21-County Strategy: If you've heard about the Democratic Party's 50-State Strategy, you might wonder if it extends to Republican-dominated Hunterdon County. And yes, it does. Slam-dunk.

"No End in Sight" screening @ SFD Meeting - WED.
by Bill Lackemacher [courtesy of Blog for America]
You Spoke – We Listened!
We’ve responded to feedback we received regarding the movie we chose for our November meeting. Since most people have already seen "An Inconvenient Truth" (and Al Gore has not yet thrown his hat into the Presidential race), we’ve decided to show another film this month. A great film recently became available, and so we’re going to take this opportunity to bring you No End In Sight!
To RSVP and watch a preview, click here:
http://www.dfalink.com/event.php?id=24756
No End In Sight, winner of the 2007 Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize: Documentary, has received incredible reviews. Time Magazine has called the film "Without a doubt the most important film you are likely to see this year," and it is possibly the best reviewed film of the entire year, as you can see from the selection of critic quotes below.
Join us this Wednesday to see for yourself - This film makes a case against Bush’s Iraq policy, even by some of those who helped put those policies into place.
We’ll provide the popcorn and sodas (and coffee, tea and snacks); you provide opinions and discussion!

We have a campaign update, and will be encouraging everyone to get involved in their campaigns. And both Mark and Daniel will be at our first-ever Northside DFA fundraiser a week from Wednesday. Have you RSVP'd for the fundraiser yet????

Let's all come out and help Andrew in this very important and symbolic election.
