Well, after months and months of having a "plan" with no associated bill in the Legislature, Arnold has a bill! This probably should be a quick hit, but I wanted to give everybody the opportunity to discuss this. So, thank you Capitol Alert. So, without further discussion, here is the Governor's ABX1 2.

Tom Hughes: Thank YOU!!

This is my last day as DFA’s executive director and I want to say a great big THANK YOU!!!  I’m off to a new challenge in the private sector, but I’m leaving the executive directorship in the good hands of Arshad Hasan.

I have spent the last twelve years working primarily for three great leaders (and some other really, really good ones): Jim Dean, Howard Dean and Al Gore.  One is activating, organizing and training a new generation of grassroots leaders.  One is reforming the Democratic Party from the bottom up.  And the third won the Nobel Peace Prize this morning.  That’s not a bad set of mentors.

But none of those three leaders would be where they are today without someone else very special: YOU.

The Democracy for America community is amazing.  It’s smart, passionate, compassionate, innovative and exciting.  Together we’ve done great things.  And more great things are in store.

Gary Anderson: Thank You DFA!

by Sheri Divers [courtesy of Blog for America]

All across the state, we saw Mississippians come out to vote their pocketbooks.  Mississippians have shown us they are ready for a change and know that they can count on Gary Anderson to be on their side in the Insurance Commissioner's Office.

We feel proud to have fought a tough battle and won.  Unseating a 32-year incumbent, who outspent us 4 to 1, was no easy task.  Democracy for America played an important role by helping energize voters from the ground up.  Work on the grassroots level contributed to our win!

Our win in the Primary is a victory for people across the country who are ready for change.  It is an example of what Democrats across the county can expect in November; Democrats can challenge the status quo and win, even in the Deep South!

Thank you,

Locked Out of the Convention

by blogswarm [courtesy of Calitics: Soapblox California - Front Page]

So I wandered out on the patio for a moment of outdoors time. When I tried to get back into the convention center, I found myself locked out. But there was a Democrat who realized my situation from a good 40 feet away and stopped his conversation and came over to the door to let me back in. He said, "I'm the candidate who opens doors." Thank you Congressman Kucinich.
