Taking it to Sen. Jeff Denham, the hypocrite

Everywhere we can. See, the thing is that Denham is in a terrible position, electorally. His district is somewhat of a swing district, but he's trying to get the GOP nomination for Lite Gov. And, you know as well as I that the GOP electorate just ain't that in to people who ditch their party, for whatever reason. But, Sen. Denham has twice voted for unbalanced budgets, so this holdout is just rank hypocrisy.
More over the flip (With Poll!)
If nothing else, this budget battle has pretty much eliminated Sen. Denham's chance to actually win a statewide election. The odds weren't strong before the budget crisis given that, well, he's a Republican, but the budget pits him against the neanderthals in his own party and his desire to be seen as a "moderate". And in the general election for statewide office? Well, it's like he's making Democratic ads for us. It's almost too easy. You know, cue the menacing music, "Jeff Denham didn't want to help foster children and senior citizens. Will he be there for YOU?"
Well, now Denham is trying to fight back. He's bought $150,000 worth of media in his Merced area district. And in his statement he made in response to the Governor, he continued to try to argue his case. But this article in the Modesto Bee didn't really close all that well for him. Well, here see for yourself:
"Governor, let me repeat myself again, since perhaps you are not listening yet," he wrote. "I will not be bullied, intimidated or pressured into voting for a budget with inflated revenues, unaccounted expenses or accounting gimmickry."Tuesday, Denham said the governor should call lawmakers back to Sacramento early to consider Denham's proposal to provide emergency funding for state, local and nonprofit programs until the budget stalemate ends.
Twice before Denham has voted to approve unbalanced budgets.
Ouch. They might have well just said "Jeff Denham is a hypocrit" to close the piece. But, perhaps this was a bit on the more subtle side. Either way, it works for me.
