Something You Probably Already Knew
[courtesy of Blog for America]
George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States of America, is also the most unpopular president in modern history. From CNN:
A new poll suggests that George W. Bush is the most unpopular president in modern American history.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Thursday indicates that 71 percent of the American public disapprove of how Bush his handling his job as president.
Oh, the humor that will ensue when the White House press operation tries to spin this one. Maybe it will be something like this: "This is clearly a sign that the president is in a rebuilding period and his unpopular polling numbers are nothing more than a result of reality intruding on our well-crafted story."

Obama's Small Town Slam
by Jeff Morris [courtesy of Blog for America]
I just saw this on CNN, and it really ticked me off. Yup. Our MSM is at it again! This CNN headline was shortly after followed by another "Obama's Explosive Comments Against Small Town America" headline.
Explosive? Was CNN and I watching the same speech? Obama said "small town Americans cling to religion, guns, and oppose illegal immigration? ...O.K... Religion-... the one thing they can still believe in. Guns-.... The economically deteriorating neighborhood isn't as safe as it was in better times. Oppose illegal immigration-....You mean just like the majority do in the other 49 States? So where's the talking down Part?
Naturally Hillary and McSame couldn't wait to chime in. As should have been expected. I think Pennsylvanians are resilient, said Clinton, not people to be looked down upon....Obama looked down on them?.... This shows he's out of touch with Main Street America, said McCain. Since when is McCain Main Street America? He supports Bush policy in Iraq. That means he's at about 28% approval!

CA-42: Proud To Support The Responsible Plan To End The War
by Ron Shepston for Congress [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
I was working in Brisbane, Australia on 9/11. I'd long past gotten over jet lag but something woke me in the middle of the night. When I turned on the TV to CNN International and saw the graphic "America Under Attack" my first thought was that it was simply more media over-the-top hype. As I watched, I saw that was not the case and my anger grew at whoever it was who attacked us. I'd never felt so much anger in my life and I doubt that ever will again. I called friends and family to "be" with them, but I knew that I couldn't, not only because of the distance, but because all air travel was suspended.

Republican Scare Tactics Again

A CNN post: Mukasey 'surprised' by scope of terror threats 03 / 21 / 2008
This equates to going to a hospital ICU and telling someone that they are going to die! You just don't say such a thing. What is the intent?

Not Even A Thank You?
by David Dayen [courtesy of Calitics - Front Page]
Yesterday I wrote a diary proving that the national media had their delegate counts completely wrong for weeks. I sent an email to the AP referencing this and asking them to change their counts.
Well, here's where we are after Day 1. Real Clear Politics changed their count. The New York Times changed their count. CBS has not. MSNBC has not. CNN still has it at 204-161 with five delegates undecided.
To the Times and RCP: you're welcome. To the others: get with the damn program.
I have calls and emails in to the Secretary of State's office to confirm this, but I'm going by their own numbers.

Clinton Campaign: "The Momentum Has Swung Back to Hillary Clinton"
[courtesy of The California Majority Report]
In a memo to supporters this morning, the Clinton campaign's Harold Ickes and Mark Penn layed out their groundwork for the "path for the presidency." Here's the memo.
With last night’s victories in Ohio and Texas, one thing is clear: the momentum has swung back to Hillary Clinton. Voters in both states agreed that Hillary Clinton would be the best Commander-in-Chief and the strongest steward of our economy. In fact, according to last night’s polls, those who decided who to vote for in the last three days overwhelmingly favored Hillary [CNN exit polls, 3/4/08]. It’s time for a second look.
- Ohio is the barometer: Hillary was successful in Ohio, the state that for the last quarter century has picked our president. As everyone knows: As Ohio goes, so goes our country. Historically, it’s one of the bellwether states and it decided the last election. And the demographics of the upcoming contests in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Kentucky closely mirror those in Ohio. Hillary looks strong in all four states.
- In recent years, every President has won two of the three following states: Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. Hillary has already won two of those and, according to all polls, is leading in the third – Pennsylvania.
See over the flip for the rest of the memo...
