Joe Canciamilla has dropped his bid for the Contra Costa State Senate district, all but handing the primary—and the seat—to current Assemblymember Mark DeSaulnier, the CC Times reports. Canciamilla is a dedicated public servant, butthis decision also reveals what a good man he is—many other politicianswould have soldiered on, whatever the consequences.
While Ventura County resident Tom McClintock certainly faces the worstcarpetbagger chargesĀ in his bid to replace John Doolittle in NorthernCalifiornia, Doug Ose has some residency challenges as well, choosing to rent some temporary space in the district during thecampaign while his family stays in neighboring Sacramento County, theBee reports. A funny tid-bit too: Ose's campaign parked a U-Haul truckoutside of McClintock's announcement speech.
