Our Governor said in no uncertain terms yesterday that offshoredrilling would not lower gas prices and anyone who said it would wasblowing smoke, the Los Angeles Times reports, and if that's not a slap in the face to John McCain - who has been endorsed by Arnold - I'm not sure what is. I guess that's not change Arnold believes in.

Witha smoke-filled streets in Ukiah and a fully-staffed evacuation centerat Willits High School along the Northern Coast, GovernorSchwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency in Mendocino County, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports, as wildfires continue to rage across the county.

A group of California firefighters who made up a task force last year are asking Governor Schwarzenegger and the legislature to step up and address fire risks in the state, the San Jose Mercury News. The alarm bell has more than sound, but will we listen?
