Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez and other Democrats are feeling the political backlash for their efforts to modify term limits, according to Dan Walters.Núñez faces opposition to the plan from Governor Schwarzenegger, whowants redistricting reform in return, and the Professional PeaceOfficers Association, who are upset about Núñez and other Democratsbacking prison reform.
That's not to say that Schwarzenegger isn't having problems of his own. Our governor is facing a Republican revolt,as state senators refuse to support the administration's foster carefinancing plan and health care plan. Republican senators are evenblocking three of Schwarzenegger's appointees to a board overseeingcommunity colleges.
